First well to target central reservoir area
In its third quarter report, issued today, Santos Ltd. says the Pikka Phase 1 drilling program continues to progress on plan, with rig operations completed on the first three wells. The fourth well, NDB-024, is currently drilling and is the first production well to target the central reservoir area.
Intermediate casing has been set at 3,495 meters. The horizontal section through the Nanushuk reservoir section of the well will be drilled to a target depth of 5,496 meters.
Following completion of drilling activities, the well will be fracture stimulated and flow tested late in the fourth quarter of this year.
