Oil patch bits: Coffman congratulates James Delaney on certification
Petroleum News
Coffman Engineers said Jan. 2 that it is pleased to announce James Delaney's achievement of obtaining his American Petroleum Institute 653 aboveground storage tank inspector certification.
The addition of Delaney's API 653 certification supplements Coffman's ability to provide engineering review of API 653 inspections and prepare repair plans. With this certification, Delaney can perform and oversee tank inspection activities, including repair recommendations, oversight of non-destructive testing per API 653 standard and applicable codes, and prepare inspection reports for clients.
Delaney holds a Bachelor of Science in applied technology and an Associate of Applied Science in welding technology and non-destructive testing technology from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He also holds an API 570 piping inspector certification. With his API 653 and 570 certifications, academic background, and previous oil field experience as a rope access NDT technician, Delaney has extensive, firsthand knowledge of various NDT inspection methods, integrity analysis, and corrosion control practices. His experience includes supporting integrity monitoring programs, completing corrosion investigation reports, performing fit-for-service analysis, providing inspection quality assurance, and ensuring applicable codes and regulations are satisfied for clients.
