BP selects Air Logistics for North Slope helicopter transportation
Petroleum News Alaska Staff
Air Logistics of Alaska Inc. has renewed an aviation contract with BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. to provide helicopter transportation services in 2000 for all North Slope operations except BP’s Northstar project, Air Logistics said May 26.
The contract includes helicopter support for environmental studies, exploration, surveys and mapping, pipeline patrols and all other North Slope business unit and external affairs activities.
Dave Scarbrough, Air Logistics’s marketing director said, the firm provided similar project support for BP on the North Slope in 1999, operating as many as three helicopters out of Deadhorse during last summer’s field season. Air Logistics continued to provide support throughout the winter and this spring. Scarbrough said he expects this year’s level of contract activity will equal or exceed last year’s.
In addition to its Fairbanks headquarters, Air Logistics maintains offices in Deadhorse, Valdez and Anchorage. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Offshore Logistics Inc. of Lafayette, La.
