Petroleum News
Coffman Engineers Inc. said March 19 that it congratulates Patrick Rider on earning his professional engineering license in electrical engineering. This significant milestone marks a testament to Rider's dedication and commitment to excellence in the field of electrical engineering.
Rider brings a diverse background in management and engineering. As a part of Coffman's electrical engineering team, he has contributed to projects including operational buildings for Alaska oil and gas development, natural gas production facilities, battery energy storage system facilities and dormitories for the National Park Service. His experience also extends to fire protection equipment inventory management for medical facilities in rural Alaska.
Prior to working at Coffman, he applied his managerial and engineering skills within the oil and gas service industry, overseeing a team to bring directional drilling and formation evaluation technology to exploration and production companies. With the onset of COVID-19, Rider turned his attention to public service, directing the Municipality of Anchorage's testing and vaccine operations. As the needs of the pandemic shifted, he assisted the State of Alaska's project managers to develop more efficient processes for grant tracking and reporting requirements. Rider holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in leadership from the University of Alaska Anchorage, a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Bachelor of Arts in physics from Gustavus Adolphus College.
"Patrick's achievement of the PE license is a reflection of his hard work, technical proficiency, and commitment to professional development. Coffman is proud to have Patrick as part of our team and we look forward to his continued contributions to our projects and clients," said Coffman Electrical Principal, Nicholai Smith.
