Oil patch bits: Coffman Engineers' Eliot Jordan leads fire protection group

Coffman Engineers Inc. said July 15 that it is pleased to announce the promotion of Eliot Jordan to discipline manager of the fire protection engineering team.

Jordan brings 24 years of professional engineering experience, including 17 years in Alaska. He leads Coffman's fire protection group and performs work on fire suppression and fire alarm and life safety code analysis projects for a variety of facilities. Jordan has served as the qualified fire protection engineer for a range of projects, particularly within the oil and gas and federal industries. He has also provided lead engineering for projects involving major equipment replacement and system reconfiguration for major industrial systems.

His 17 years of mechanical engineering experience designing commercial and institutional HVAC systems laid the foundation for his shift into fire protection engineering. He earned his Master of Science in fire protection engineering from California Polytechnic State University.

With a depth of experience throughout Alaska, Washington and Oregon, Jordan's portfolio includes a vast array of market sectors -- from higher education academic facilities, science and laboratory facilities, commercial buildings, parking garages, industrial facilities, restaurants, to federal buildings. He also has a strong background in sustainable design and LEED projects and has designed new LEED construction platinum and gold-certified projects as well as a LEED commercial interiors platinum-certified project.
